Hi All
What is the name of this hull being launched from Trieste?
I think it is a dreadnought or semi-dreadnought. It isnt the Zirynl as I have a contemporaneous magazine article which does not match?
This is a series of 6 small format cards??

From pictures "dreadnought 6" (two holes for the anchors on the right side) and "dreadnought 5" (particular large windows aft) I can see it's a dreadnought of Tegetthoff class, but I cannot understand which one.
The ships of that class were:
Tegetthoff
Viribus Unitis
Prinz Eugen
Szent Istvan

Here you can find many photos and news in German:

http://www.kuk-kriegsmarine.at/

click on "Schiffe" and then on the name of the ship, under "Tegetthoffclasse".

The S.M.S."Szent Istvan" has been built in Fiume, belonging to the Kingdom of Hongrie, and the other three ships in Triest.

I cannot understand the man on pic #6: it looks like he's trying to walk with some kind of "wooden legs" and I wonder what he's doing there Rolling Eyes

I've got the answer from a good friend of this site :-D

Quote:
Photos 1,2,3,4, 5 and 6 are all of the launching of the VIRIBUS UNITIS at the STT Stabilimento Tecnico Triestino shipyard, on June 24, 1911.

Her other two sisters – TEGETTHOF and PRINZ EUGEN - were launched at Trieste with a tower on deck, so there are no doubts.

Please do not be mystified by the fact that photo No.6 shows two hawser holes, whilst in the others appears only one:

The ships of the TEGETTHOFF class had the peculiarity of having one hawser hole on port side and two on starboard side.

Dutovlje now lays in Slovenia, very close to Triest.
